In the period of globalization, it is critical to have an extensive and recognized worldwide perspective. The United States of America provides a tremendous cultural atmosphere and greatly developed commercial sector. Due to this reason, I hope I will be able to gain vast knowledge about the field of management. Furthermore, I will be exposed to the necessary abilities and information that will allow me to be a management professional.
Since my childhood, I have been exposed to the world of business by witnessing my father’s business. He was a businessman, with much professional awareness and was always committed to his work. And for this reason, I quickly established great interest in the field of business. My decisions to pursue the master’s degree in management is due to the reason that the opportunity for advancement are abundant and it allows us to work in a broad range of industries. I earned my bachelor’s degree in a business school in India, where I attended many managements related courses such as accounting, international business and corporate financial policy. Throughout my three years of studies, I always had a positive attitude towards my educational goals and fostered the patience required to deal with people.
Moreover, I had an opportunity to take a course in the pathway program in the university of George Mason, that helps provide international students with the necessary preparation and develop the language skills to achieve their goals in the master’s degree. This program would further enhance my overall skills and ability to succeed in the graduate school. Coming from a different environment, it is difficult to cope with many changes not just with the society but also with the intimation of being in a classroom with students from other culture. This program is taught in a small class where it allows the student to be comfortable and also provides an opportunity for every student to participate. I am certain that the skills I have acquired during pathway program will help me succeed in my master’s degree. I also look forward to interacting with international students as well as the local students with different backgrounds, in order to provide me with a better understanding of different cultures.
One of my personal strength is that I have the ability to absorb things really fast. I believe my knowledge base, abilities and enthusiasm for exploring new possibilities in the field of management will make a great contribution to the George Mason University. I also have a strong background in foundations of management, due to my extensive undergraduate work. Moreover, I have acquired research skills, examining literature, evaluating results and writing papers from my time in the pathway program. I further hope the skills I have obtained will help me in my further studies and assist me in making various contributions in the classroom.
A master degree in management will give me a wide range of information about the management skills that I would require to accomplish as a successful manager. Moreover, this degree would help me understand the role of a leader and how these roles can help the firm prosper by combining our expertise with the other leaders. Through my time in management, I plan to make the best use of the team projects in order to enhance my teamwork skills and also to increase my communication skills. My background will also enhance to the diversity of the George Mason class. I look forward to sharing my experiences in the classroom with other students. The master’s degree in management is essential in my development not just as a leader but as well as a person and I hope to take full benefit of the prospect provided to me.
